Children & Family Ministry!
The Learning Team invites you to learn about the variety of ways your family can be involved and spiritually nurtured at Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church. We celebrate families of all types and know that God speaks to us in and through our children. We encourage you to join in one or more of our present ministries. We also hope you will suggest new ideas that are of interest to you. We meet regularly to advise and coordinate the ministries with families and children.

Worship
Children are welcome at worship. We believe children are essential to our worshiping community and we support and encourage children’s participation from the earliest ages. Please know that the nursery is there for those who wish, but it is not an expectation for your children during worship.
Pew Bags
We hope your children will learn the process of worship while being present.. Please take a pew bag during worship and return it after service. Pew bags are fabric activity bags filled with age-appropriate activities to keep children engaged during worship. If our pew bags are in need of an update please contact the church office.
Sunday School
With Spark, kids open their Bibles each week and engage in Scripture! Watch them grow in their faith by encountering God’s Word while participating in activities that reinforce the Bible stories.
Spark lessons are designed to engage every child in active learning! Age-appropriate lessons designed for multiple intelligences reinforce key points of the stories and help kids get more out of Sunday school, no matter what their learning style may be.
If you'd like to volunteer to help in any capacity as a group leader, praise and worship leader, tech team, decorating, photography, publicity, supplies, etc.

NOW LOOKING FOR TEACHERS FOR 2010-2011 School Year
We need
5 Pre-K Teachers
5 1-2nd grade teachers
5 3-4th Grade Teachers
5 5th-6th Grade Teachers (5th and 6th grade teachers need to be available to help with CLUB 56 through out the year as well!)
You will NOT teach every Sunday, You will be on a rotation with the other 4 teachers in the grade level you choose. You, your team and I will look at the calendar year and we will decide what days you are available to teach.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Lake of the Isles Lutheran invites you to share in the fun with Vacation Bible School every summer. Please be on the look out for new information advertising our 2011 Summer VBS Curriculum. We look forward to seeing you!
FAMILY EVENTS
We try to keep all of our families involved at LOTI. LOTI is a close “family” all are invited to attend our family events. Please be on the look out for our upcoming events. We do at least 1 activity a month that involves people of all ages! - Family events are now on hold till September, we will post our 2010-2011 schedule soon!

NURSERY
Children are always welcome at Lake of the Isles worship services. The nursery is provided for your convenience if you choose to use it. It is available for newborns through age three on Sunday mornings. A childcare specialist is always present to offer loving care for your child. If you are interested in volunteering to help in the nursery contact the church office!
CLUB 56
CLUB 56 is our new group beginning August 2010. This is a club exclusive to our 5th and 6th graders. This is a group of young kids that will be building relationships within the church community by doing different activites throughout the school year. We will gather at least 1 Sunday a month, some months maybe 2 times. We will be doing many things from FUN- SERVICE in our Community! So come bring a friend and join the new CLUB 56.

September 12 12:15 - 3:30 pm Calhoun Boat Rentals/Simming Beach
We will try to get some paddle boats. Please bring swim suit and towel.

Mom’s and Dad’s Group
This is for all of our parents, married, single, or divorced! This group was formed in 2009 and has been very successful at LOTI. We will be continuing the program in September. We will have a schedule posted with all the times for the whole year! We hope to see you there. Please keep in mind you are always welcome to bring a friend!
