THE MISSION PROJECT MAY 20, 2007 Next meeting of the MIssion Project: June 24, 2007 Present to Council: July 19, 2007 Vote at Congregational Meeting: July 29, 2007 ATTENDING: Ross Bartels, John Bergford, Pastor Gayle Bintliff, Margaret Blobaum, Lance Breiland, Sean Coleman, Ross Formell, Susanne Haas, John Hanson, Amy Hasbargen, Jeff HIckstein, Jennifer Hueneke, Kermit Kramer, Nancy Lupardus, Steve Maurelli, Linda Nelson, Maxine Peitso, Norma Ringham, Bruce Sabatke, Mary Sabatke,Wendy Westerberg, Denise Wilkens FACILITATOR: Jeff Hickstein Prayer: Bruce Sabatke Agenda: 1. Review project criteria, prioritize 2. Form two task forces: one: focus on needs, social concerns; look at possibilities, present proposal two: focus on resources, consider the parsonage, sell or rehab and use for?? The discussion of the criteria suggested that definitions might need sharpening. No consensus was reached on priorities; all seemed to be valuable, a few essential. In the conversation the following ideas, among others, surfaced: ° hold a fund raiser to repair/maintain the parsonage ° solidify our mission to spread the gospel in Kenwood ° consider how to minister to the neediest in our community ° let's continue the social outreach efforts we are presently doing and add a major thrust, e.g. the "Habitat" project of 2005 Volunteers for the "USCS" task force: Mary Sabatke, Lance Breiland, Steve Maurelli, John Hanson Volunteers for the "Resources" task force: Susanne Haas, John Bergford, Denise Wilkens, Ross Bartels There were hopes that many in the congregation would offer their ideas and support via e-mail, telephone calls to the church office or to any member of the council or these task forces.
