Weddings
at Lake of the Isles
Lutheran Church

We receive many inquires from non-members as well as members about the possibility of using church facilities for weddings -- and we are delighted with each inquiry.  We hold Christian marriage in the highest esteem and consider it to be part of our ministry to help couples begin their life together with both the blessing of God and the genuine care of this community of faith.

Members and non-members alike are welcome to use our facilities.  Click on the "Wedding Manual and Fees" link in the left banner to access a complete copy of our Wedding Manual and a copy of our fee schedule for weddings.

The first step in planning a wedding at Lake of the Isles is a conversation with our wedding manager Kerri Booher.  You may contact her at 612-701-5573 or by email at kerribooher2@netscape.net.

The second step is to arrange for premarital preparation.  Although we do not provide a premarital program at Lake of the Isles, we do require that every couple using our facilities undergo premarital counseling.  In addition, the county reduces the cost of your wedding license from $110 to $40 for those couples who receive at least 12 hours of premarital preparation.  Though you are free to receive your premarital preparation from any person or program of your choosing, we recommend the premarriage class offered by Karen Stevensen, www.karenstevensen.com and one through the Lutheran Social Services and Family Resources (612-879-5320)

Brief tours of the sanctuary and are available when the office is open, generally Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 5pm, although arrangements can be made for tours in the early evening.

In the event that you do book a wedding at Lake of the Isles, please click on the link to our wedding manual and read it carefully.  You will be asked to sign an acknowledgment that you have read our policies and procedures and will abide by them.

May God bless you richly as you prepare for your wedding day and for the life together in marriage that will follow.
